"For more than 50 years the Lambruschi family - first with father Ottaviano, and now with the son, Fabio - has been cultivating the mountaintop vineyards of the Lunigiana area of Liguria. This is truly heroic viticuluture, given the slopes and altitudes one has to work with. The "Sarticoa" is the family's best Vermentino, but it is made only in the better years. It usually starts off with scents of crushed stone, lime, and apple, with noticeable hints of thyme and almond. Medium-bodied with enough crispness to keep the flavors lively on the tongue, it finishes long and pure with a definite salty edge."
