2007 This year I tasted a number of wines from Franz and Florian Gojer, but was most struck by the higher-end reds. Glogglhof is a small, family-run property located in the St. Magdalena district.

"The 2007 Merlot Spitz is a pretty, mid-weight offering redolent of dark fruit, flowers and grilled herbs. This is an interesting red that seems to speak as much about Alto Adige terroir as it does varietal character. Delicate floral notes add complexity on the understated, finessed close. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2013."
